Wife. Mother. Farmer. Entrepreneur.

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”

Woodrow Wilson

Leadership Philosophy

“Leadership is the art of giving people a platform for spreading ideas that work.” —Seth Godin
“You don’t lead by pointing and telling people some place to go. You lead by going to that place and making a case.” —Ken Kesey

Leadership is give and take. It’s a process of constantly learning new things and challenging the status quo. It’s coming up with innovative ideas and following through. It’s being willing to get outside of your comfort zone and see things from a new perspective. And always welcoming new people to the table.

Advocacy Skills

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we lived. It is the difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead. — Nelson Mandela
“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” — African Proverb

I advocate for a robust agricultural industry that provides farmers with the tools and resources they need to run successful and profitable businesses. There is no “right way to farm,” only a right way for each individual farmer.

I believe that farmers are the original stewards of the land. Conservation is one of my key issues and I advocate for:

  • Environmental Conservation Practices
  • Land Conservation Programs
  • Programs that strengthen and support farmers as businesspeople and individuals
